i still don’t think having rich people pay the exact same percentage of their wealth/income as a poor person is fair, because the wealthy elite live off of like less than a percent of their income/wealth, whereas poor people live on 100% of their income and wealth, all of the poor’s money is necessary to survival. Less than a percent of the wealthy elites income is necessary to survival. Stop pretending the poor and the rich have the same life experiences if you break it down by percentages lmao. They just don’t.

I’m from a rather economically privileged family but I have job now and the taxes time is coming
So while I’m getting some returns my dad has to pay up
And apparently it’s ‘unfair’ that he has a higher percentage than I do
Him, making above the average for our country in his finance 9-to-5 job that he can always skip and just be on the phone
And me, a student who works her ass off to pay for my own education in a physically and emotionally exhausting job at 150% minimum hourly wage
Apparently there’s no distance between our situations
