Going back and watching Critical Role, I broke up the story into arcs.  Here’s my favorite:

Arc 6: A Cycle of Vengeance (16 episodes)

• 72: The Elephant in the Room

The theme is strong in this sequence: the pain of the past.  And it has a love story subplot that is closely tied to the themes and mini-arcs.  I’m not sure I could ask for a lot more in terms of structure and interplay of meaning.
