Who fucking plots in detail how to kill a friend? Like, Percy went from morally dubious to pretty fucking evil for that comment. Scanlan never did anything to warrant that kind of detailed plotting. That’s super fucking dark, yo. I mean, you have abandonment issues and you have abandonment issues.

Percy´s like that creepy abusive boyfriend who fucking murders you when you leave.

I’m not sure if you have Alpha, but this did get brought up on Talks. Taliesin clarified that it was “kill or take the stuff back” and that Percy felt Scanlan had abandoned then through some tough fights, so this is basically further clarification of the bit in episode 94 after Percy scryed on Scanlan. So from scry to plan to Vex talking him out of it was maybe four hours? And it didn’t exactly take Vex a lot of effort to convince him to let it go.

That’s the thing about projection, I guess. On some level you know you’re in the wrong. Percy knew—not consciously or he wouldn’t have need to say something at all—that he was being deeply fucked up. Heck, “Percy says a fucked up thing and the others go ‘wtf man!’” Is kind of a running theme with him. It even all comes crashing down on him in the finale that he’s been awful to people. He even apologizes to Scanlan specifically (about Manners, to be fair, but “one time I thought about killing you and made plans and I’m sorry” is weird to bring up in conversation).

I’m actually a little surprised when it became a Thing in the tag, given that we beat this horse dead six months ago. Shout out to the guy on Twitter who zombified the horse with a question about Trinket.

I’m not trying to discount you being creeped out or anything—I’m hardly thrilled with it myself. I’m just clarifying why I think calling something that lasted four hours tops and was resolved with a quick conversation evil or the actions of an abusive boyfriend is maybe a little extreme.
