Nazis are justs human beings. And that’s why shooting them will be so successful.

Nazis are people. Nazis are human beings. They were young once. They have parents. Many are parents, or will be. They have dreams. They have feelings. They have human bodies. They sleep. They get sick. They age. And they still deserve to be shot. That’s very fucking important.
Humans are, in fact, capable of great evil. Humans are, in fact, capable of committing genocide and unthinkable atrocities against other humans. The Holocaust was, in fact, carried out by humans. Some humans do, in fact, deserve to die.
Do you know how long ppl everywhere doubted the rumours of “what they were doing to the Jews”? Do you know how many people remain incredulous today? Do you know how many times I’ve heard “how could people do that to other people”? I don’t fucking know, but I know that they did.
Yes, it’s unthinkable. Yes, it’s unconscionable. Yes, it’s inhumane. Yes, it’s inconceivable. Yes, it’s very, very difficult to comprehend that people could do that to other people, and that the people who did that were just as human as I am. None of that changes that it’s true.
I don’t care if you don’t want to hear this. I know it’s not easy to think of evil as being a human invention, but it is. That’s why it didn’t end with the fall of the Third Reich. That’s why evil happened before Hitler was alive, and why evil still happens now that he’s dead.
I do think it’s something USians do to “Other” evilness and white supremacy; to make it seem distant; to make them feel inculpable. Because sure, America has in its history the genocide+enslavement+continued genocide of many peoples, but at LEAST they’re not ~NAZIS~, right???
“Sure, we turned on and detained US citizens for their race/ethnicity, and we dropped multiple atomic bombs that have ongoing impacts on the health of folx being born today, but hey! We’re people, those were *mistakes*. We’re not Nazis, Nazis were EVIL. They were INHUMAN.”
It’s rly convenient how when you describe Nazis as their own, separate thing – not ppl, not humans – you don’t have to look at US’ genocides, eugenics, slavery, racial violence; or how weiß supremacy is just good ol’ American white supremacy, repurposed+repackaged. German edition.
Many people who were not Nazis have done evil things, too. I always think of how shocked people always are when they find out someone they know is a mass shooter. “He seemed like a normal boy”. Yeah. He was. He was a person. Humans commit mass shootings. Not demons summoned by the NRA.
Growing up hearing about just a fraction of what my grandma lived thru – only what she chose to tell me, or could – I never understood how humans could do that to other humans. But I never had any doubt in my mind that they WERE humans. They were her neighbours & classmates.
So sorry, Americans, if I reject your “Nazis aren’t people” rhetoric. It doesn’t work. It’s ineffective. It’s distancing. It lets people fictionalise Nazis, which leaves them unprepared for seeing a Nazi get punched in the face & react with fear or pain, like any person would.]
