We really aren’t talking enough about Nott because literally almost none of the drama would have happened if she hasn’t stolen the bowl and then gone to Caleb in secret about it. I know some of the cast have talked about things being unhealthy with Caleb and Nott and how it’s not good to have groups within a group, but I feel like this was the first really good example of how things can really go bad when those two keep insisting on doing their own thing and making decisions that impact everyone without communicating with the others. Caleb has been making a lot of progress with working together with the group, but I feel like Nott might be unintentionally holding him back on that front and encouraging him to keep doing his same old shit instead of learning to trust the others and work as a team. I don’t know, I just think it’s interesting seeing this possible negative side to their dynamic. Until they stop being their own secretive little unit within the group, they’re going to keep having issues like this with the rest of the team. Mind you, that’s only part of the problem with what went down last night, but a lot of drama could have been avoided if Nott and Caleb had told the party about the bowl and discussed it beforehand instead of feeling that Caleb had the right to withhold information from the others and make these decisions on his own.

Nott is fascinating in that she has cast herself as basically Caleb’s lackey, but out of her own volition and for her own ends. To a degree that is almost unconscionable for Caleb to allow at this point, but, well, he’s not too good with social cues in general, leave alone questioning the behavior of other people that benefits him… More or less.
