i haven’t seen too many people talking about nott’s part in all of this, but i think she needs a stern talking to by the rest of m9 AND caleb because this time it’s her putting caleb into this precarious situation with the rest of the group. if she hadn’t hidden it and presented it to him only then the rest of them might not have directed their ire directly at him. i wish more people could pay attention to this because it shows how their codependency CAN be v unhealthy for the other’s growth!

Yeah, I feel Nott’s been unwittingly stirring party drama with her attitude (unwittingly for Nott though I’m pretty sure Sam’s enjoying it like hell).

I do feel some of the things she does will have to be addressed sooner or later for the sake of party dynamics, but so far her attitude is true to character and Sam is doing an amazing job at it.

It’s going to be so much fun to see all this unfold with the story and see what possible consequences or ramifications this kind of dynamics will have in the future!

I want to like Nott. I really do. But stuff like that stunt last night keeps presenting barriers to me. She doesn’t want to be a team player, she wants to make Caleb powerful so he can grant her greatest wish. That’s an interesting concept! But in practice she keeps causing major problems among the group by being secretive and selfish when she doesn’t need to be. That’s twice she’s stolen from guests for pure greed, potentially creating enemies out of allies that this group desperately needs in an oppressive empire. I loves me some drama, but I feel like this drama is unnecessary and frustrating because it’s easily avoidable if Nott would think about the team rather than just her and Caleb. Nott and Caleb make each other worse.

Everyone in the group has some trauma in their backstories (well maybe Fjord doesn’t but who knows anything about him right now for sure?) and their own quirks and issues that led them to be independent at times. It’s Nott and Caleb, again and again, who can’t put that aside for the group cohesion. Everyone else has been managing to do their shenanigans elsewhere where it won’t impact the team (like Jester’s pranks and Beau’s training) or manage their way through stuff they’d rather not do (Molly and Yasha.)

I hope they deal with this sooner rather than later, before someone ends up dead.

I think the best way to get this to work out is to separate them for a few sessions, Trial of the Take style, but like, longer. Split the group up into two smaller teams and have them work together and cooperate with other people. Maybe for Laura’s maternity leave? The group without Jester doing their adventures first? I dunno, just spit balling here. But I think that would work out well to get the entire team into a cohesive unit without sub-units that actually affect things, rather than… Caleb and Nott doing their own thing and expecting everyone to just roll with it unquestionigly.
