The original tweet, btw, happened on a thread about Sam Riegel being asked by his son whether Donald Trump hates kids. Just in case there isn’t enough context here that I’m being quoted out of.
Good god, I feel bad for giving this man a platform. He went on to yell his gross opinions about what’s going on, how inhumane laws have to be followed, and how Mexico is to blame for everything. And that all the kids are totally perfectly taken care of. And how everyone detained in that way is an economics refugee looking for free hand-outs, because America totally gives those. Along with healthcare and humane working conditions.
I told him to not quote me out of context and get a blog if he feels the need to lecture people about his understanding of current events. He responded with this:
“I’d ask you to think before you speak. Again, think with your head and not your heart and don’t rely on the people that agree with you on one topic to be your rock in conversation. Group think is dangerous and it commonly makes one assume ignorance. You’re a smart lady.
And I sincerely appreciate the conversation. I normally get interrupted with name calling or some stupid meme and you didn’t do that. You’re an intelligent woman and I’m grateful for these kinds of debates.”
I feel violated. And want to call him a lot of names. And tell him that one people offering unsolicited interpretations of legal issues they are clearly not qualified to talk about is not exactly a conversation. And that he has no right to tell me how I talk to other people. But I also want this to END ALREADY.
