So, during the fifth blight, you have a Dalish Warden traveling around with Alistair, having fun, and even teaching him a bit of Elven, which he picks up pretty quickly.

One day, Morrigan (Shemsplainer Extraordinaire) is in the party and she ends up bringing up some ancient elven shit. She says something in elven, only to have Alistair correct her pronounciation like, 

“Don’t you mean ‘glandival’ not ‘glandivel’?” and of course Morrigan brushes him off because of course she is right and he wrong, only to have the Warden be like, “Actually, no, Alistair is right and also his accent is way better than yours.”

And Alistair gets this huge grin on his face and proceeds to tease Morrigan about it literally every opportunity he gets. Years later, he sees her in the Inquisition Courtyard, reading some elven text and asks her if she “would like some help with that.”. She will never be free.
