Story time! Which, I’ve been told, is a good fic inspo. This one time I went out with friends for some typical clubbing and drinking night. After a few drinks the mode “Hold my beer and watch me” kicked in, but in my case it was “Hold my shoes and watch me go home barefoot ’cause my feet are tired.” I gave them to my friend to carry. Only it wasn’t her, but some guy who got a little surprised, but actually walked with us down the street, carrying my shoes until I noticed. My friend had a blast.

LOL! That is amazing. That could totally be a ship meme: in your OTP, who is the barefoot one and who is the one silently carrying a cute stranger’s shoes? 😂😂😂

Your shoe story reminds me of a shoe story.

I was at this outdoor music festival, and a storm rolled in. Black skies, lightning that seemed only a few feet away, solid sheets of water coming at you at an angle.

I was trying to get to the front gate, where my friend and I had agreed to meet up in the event that a storm hit. Between me and the gate was a lake of mud, and as I crossed it, one of my shoes got stuck. It was easily three feet of mud, and they were crappy old off-brand sneakers, so in the end I just gave up, pulled my foot out of the shoe, and kept going. I lost the other shoe in a similar fashion a couple of feet later.

Once I was back on the gravel path, I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. When I turned, there was a tall, beautiful man standing there, holding my shoes in one hand. “You forgot these.”

Such a lovely and incredibly random thing.
