#their talk on the ship is so underrrated #at the time so many people used it as an excuse to say that all vex and percy do is have sex #and that it invalidates their relationship #but they really ignored how earnest the preceding conversation was #percy quietly confessing that he heard but that he didn’t want to embarrass vex by bringing it up at the wrong time #quickly reassuring her that the only reason that it motivated him to make the next move was because he never would’ve hoped otherwise #and this whole time he didn’t #that until then he under the impression that it was completely unrequited #vex following it up by reassuring him that no matter how ugly the thought or gruesome the fear #he should never feel like he couldn’t share his thoughts with her #and when he does share his worst ideas she doesn’t pretend to be unaffected by it #but she doesn’t begrudge him for having bad thoughts #just redirects them somewhere more positive #i’m never gonna stop being sappy about these two aren’t i?
