So we had a 3.5 ed. campaign where we rolled our stats instead of using the point-buy system. Our half-orc barbarian had a bunch of good rolls and one disastrous one, I think a four; being a barbarian, he decided to make Intelligence his dump stat. Our DM suggested that a 4 Int score was enough to limit his ability to communicate; the player agreed to roleplay it that way, with his PC being mostly monosyllabic. He said his character would only know *one* word longer than two syllables, and be very proud of knowing it and use it at every opportunity.
This came up in our first session. An NPC came to the inn we were staying in and asked to see us about some business. The half-orc got the message and took it up to our party leader: “Boss? Man downstairs want *intercourse* with you. Uh… Not *fun* kind intercourse, *other* kind.”
At this point we had to take five minutes off so the people who were giggling hysterically could get it out of their systems.
