“Does the decaf coffee have caffeine?” What the fuck do you think!
“Can I get a bacon sandwich”
“Which one sir? We have three of them”
“The one with the bacon on it”
Hi my name is Customer McDumbass and I ordered six frappaccinos, all different, during a rush right before my flight is supposed to board and I’m mad my drinks aren’t done yet!
Um. Decaf has caffeine. Chemically decaffeinated somewhat less so than Swiss water process decaf, but it still has enough to fuck with particularly sensitive people.
I mentioned this in the replies but the customer asked because they wanted the coffee with the MOST caffeine and thought decaf was that. It was genuinely stupid I promise
Me: “I have a small cappuccino for Caitlin!”
Customer: “What? But I ordered a large Americano!”
Me: “What’s your name?”
Customer: “Laurie”
I have customers walk away with the wrong drink so often because of that constantly. Like ma’am, you ordered a large frap. Does this medium hot cup really seem like it’s the right beverage for you???????
“And WHY exactly can’t I use my coupon?”
“…because your coupon is for a regular priced item, and your item is on sale.”
“Well, how was I supposed to KNOW it was on sale?”
“Well, ma’am, there was a sign right above it on the shelf–”
“I came in here to SHOP, not to READ.”
Dude I have people with bones coming out of their body asking me if I think it’s an emergency and if they should go to the hospital or wait till it gets better. Like humans are just plain stupid
WHY CANT I USE MY COUPON TWICE???
“Where are my vouchers? I was told I would get them!”
“No sir, you took out business with us two months before the voucher offer started.”
“So I’m going to get my vouchers?”
“No sir, because you started business with us before the offer began.”
“I want my vouchers!”
“You aren’t eligible for any voucher sir.”
“This is ridiculous! I was told I would get vouchers.”
“Actually sir we’ve listened to all the calls, and no one mentioned the vouchers to you.”
“…So when will I get my vouchers?”

Reblogging for the comic
That “grabbing the obviously wrong drink” thing pissed me off so much when I was a barista. It really made me lose faith in humanity’s intelligence.
Yesterday a woman who ordered a mocha grabbed someone else’s chai, despite names being announced and written on cups, drank half of it, then returned it and yelled at me because it wasn’t her drink. Customers really are that stupid
I work at a hot dog place and I had a couple come in and order two hot dogs. One plain and one with onions and mustard. I labeled them so they knew which was which but they returned a little later complaining that his hot dog didn’t have anything on it even though he ordered it with mustard and onions and that his girlfriends hot dog had mustard and onions instead of being plain….I didn’t even know how to respond.
I once had a woman complaining about how small our clothes were fitting her. She was shopping in the childrens department.
– Communication doesn’t work on bullies. Telling a bully they’re making you feel bad is the wrong way to go. They want to make you feel bad. That’s the point.
– being kind to a bully doesn’t always mean they’ll stop. Sometimes it means they’ll just use your kindness to manipulate you while still continuing to bully you.
– not every bully has a sympathetically tragic home life. Sometimes people are just mean. Sometimes people just get off on hurting others.
– on that note, a tough home life is a reason, not an excuse. You don’t have to put up with bullying because somebody’s life sucks, just like you don’t have to let someone mug you because they’re broke.
– in order to forgive someone, they have to apologize first. If your bully has not apologized to you, you do not owe them anything.
– getting bullied as a kid can still mess you up in adult life. Maybe kids grow out of being bullies, but the marks they left often don’t go away.
– there are ways to get people to stop bullying you, but they almost all involve being mean back.
– as long as parents keep raising shitty bullying kids, there will be bullies. No amount of assemblies and hand-drawn posters will fix the problem. It’s the parents’ fault.
– It’s not your responsibility to fix your bully or to stop the abuse they send your way, but some adults sure will act like it is.
– Many times (especially in the case of girls) your friends can be your bullies. This makes things even worse as these are people who know you and your intimate secrets and use them to their advantage. If your friends are bullies, don’t take crap from them. Get new friends.
im gonna throw in that its never your fault, people will pick a target to gang up on because theyd rather it be you than them. even if you think “this must be because im weird”- everyone is weird, in different ways. anyone can be made a target. it’s not just you for some reason in particular, i promise.
I find the concept of growing in love so much prettier than love at first sight?? like one day you look at someone and you suddenly realize you see them in a different light than you did the night before. that’s falling.
there’s a lot of heinous tropes out there but can we agree that “1000 year old woman looks like an eternal 10-year-old” is probably one of the fucking worst
you’re right! i’m a fool!
Imagine the reverse of this, like, some poor ten year old who looks like some ancient dinosaur of a person
remember this whenever politicians start advertising themselves as “tough on crime” or start talking about a crime wave all of a sudden.
I know I don’t have a ton of followers, but just a reminder that there are currently prisoners striking in America over forced labor in the prison system, which is basically a firm of legal slavery.
You can personally thank Marco Rubio for the laws allowing this; he drafted some of the first private prison legislature in FL which was then used as the base contract for other states with GEO group and CCA. (The two major for profit prison groups. I’m pretty sure one of them got taken out by a lawsuit but I forget which.)
Basically if their quota falls below 90% capacity, they legally sue the state for not providing them with a “product.” Which is, usually, lower income Americans of color.
Also, the Supreme Court decided in Bevins v. Six Unnamed Agents of FBI, that American citizens do NOT have the right to sue private prisons for violations of the 1st amendment.
The country is fucked and it’s the fault of greedy politicians.
Honestly, that I wrote it at all. Like, I don’t exactly beat around the bush with this, but it helped me deal with an actual loss in my actual real life and was as such very hard to finish, because the book says that when you write abot grief, the final chapter should be about acceptance. But some things just cannot be accepted. You learn to live with (or rather without) them, but it’ll never be okay. And capturing that feeling, as well as the kind of moving on that happens regardless, is basically my favorite thing that I have written, ever. Usually I write inconsequential fluff and as of March sometimes porn, but this is something different that actually means something. So. Uh. Yeah.
